Dr. Jo de Klerk is a distinguished veterinarian with expertise in veterinary global health, emerging infectious/zoonotic diseases, and nutrition. Using a One Health approach, she bridges clinical practice and scientific research to address global animal health challenges. Dr. de Klerk combines her clinical work with a passion for writing, contributing valuable insights on veterinary medicine, animal welfare, and public health. As a Research Fellow at Lancaster University, she is exploring West Nile virus risk to the UK. Her publications range from academic journals to accessible blogs aimed at pet owners and fellow veterinarians.

Education
Dr. Jo de Klerk earned her Honours degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Royal Veterinary College. She later earned a Master's degree in Tropical Animal Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Life Sciences from the University of Warwick.
